ABOUT ME
Ko wai au? I am a descendent of the Ngapuhi Rangatira, Rahiri, Kaharau and Uenuku, moko of the great Ngati Whatua chiefs Te Hira and Apihei Te Kawau and also whakapapa directly to Pomare. My great great great grand father Moetara also signed The Confederation of Chiefs.I am proud to whakapapa to all four points of Ngapuhi. Though I don't live in the north it will always be my turangawaewae.Ko wai au?My ancestors came from the Highland clan Mackenzie in the Outer Hebrides, and also from Sentry Hill in County Antrim, Eire. My forefathers were Normans, generals to William the Conqueror speaking a language je ne’st compres pas. I believe my Wairua is strengthened by my Pakeha heritage. I whakapapa to Robert Henry Wynyard who was at one time governor of New Zealand.I have 2 beautiful children, Arahia and Amiria and am going through a big transition period in my life.I believe strongly in Te Ao Maori and want my mokopuna to grow up in an environment that I missed out on. Ko Tai Tokerau toku Turangawaewae, the home of my tupuna, my kainga. Having a strong whakapapa is only a start as we have to use it to better ourselves, our whanau and our people.Titiro Whakamuri Kia anga Whakamua |
