Ka mimiti te puna i Taumarere Ka
toto te puna i Hokianga Ka toto te puna i Taumarere Ka mimiti te puna i
Hokianga.
I have included in this site Purakau that I have read or been told on the Hokianga rohe.If you have interesting purakau that you would like to share then email them to me and your source and I will endeavour to include them. I believe it is important that these purakau are
there for our tamariki to learn and in turn pass on to their
moko.
I have also included references to Te Ao Maori and the Treaty in the hope that teachers are aware that there are preferred Maori learning styles which are often overlooked in todays classrooms. I would like to acknowledge Matua Nia Wikaira in Whirinaki for his knowledge in the area and for the first purakau he shared with me and to Angus McFarlane and Ted Glynn for inspiring me to do this. Nau mai haere mai, Rawiri |
